I am a public policy professional, entrepreneur, and community advocate running to represent Ward Anirniq on Edmonton City Council. With a career that spans government, policy and development, and small business, I bring a rare combination of vision, lived experience, and practical know-how to the table.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Human Geography, with a focus on public policy, service delivery, and community development. My career has included research and policy analysis internationally, where I examined how communities respond when public institutions and public sector mechanisms fall short. That work, combined with public service roles at Service Canada, Alberta Justice, and the City of Edmonton’s Assessment and Taxation branch, deepened my firsthand understanding of the persistent gap between policy and delivery. Through varied public sector contexts, I’ve seen how well-intentioned programs and policies often miss the mark when they fail to reflect the realities of the people they are meant to serve. This experience continues to drive my commitment to building public systems that are responsive, effective, and grounded in lived experience.
Since 2018, I’ve built and operated several successful brick-and-mortar businesses in Edmonton that continue to contribute to the city’s cultural and economic vibrancy. As an entrepreneur, I understand the challenges of navigating city processes, balancing limited resources, and delivering real results. Through this work, I’ve learned how to make smart investments, adapt quickly, and turn ideas into action.
My approach to politics is clear: listen closely, work with people, not around them, and deliver real results. I recognize the diversity not only of residents but also of the physical spaces within the ward, from established neighborhoods like Calder and Dovercourt to newer communities like Griesbach and Rapperswill. Each has its own needs, and I reject one-size-fits-all approaches. Instead, I’m committed to encouraging practical, community-driven solutions that reflect the realities of residents. I believe municipal government must focus on outcomes, not optics, and that every tax dollar should be invested with purpose, accountability, and measurable impact. Residents deserve results, not excuses.
I’m running with Better Edmonton, a non-partisan team focused on transparent and effective leadership. I’m committed to getting the basics right—safer streets, reliable infrastructure, functioning public transit, clean public spaces, and efficient, accessible city services. I share the team’s vision for fiscal responsibility, practical problem-solving, collaborative leadership, and long-term strategic planning. While our values align, my platform is built independently from the ground up. Every policy I bring forward reflects the realities of Ward Anirniq and the voices of the people I aim to represent, not top-down directives or party-driven rhetoric.
I offer the kind of leadership Edmonton needs right now—bold, practical, and focused on delivering real results. I’m ready to make tough decisions, solve problems that matter, and put communities first. Edmonton needs leadership rooted in the priorities of everyday people: safer streets, reliable infrastructure, clean public spaces, and responsible spending. Getting back to the basics is not a step backward—it’s the foundation for meaningful progress. Residents are asking for clarity, not complexity. They want leaders who listen, show up, and follow through. When safety is prioritized, growth is managed well, and local voices are respected, communities thrive. I’m ready to get to work.
